How does it work?

Selling your own property is easy with Buymyplace.

  1. Register an account and start adding your property details, no payment required
  2. Choose & pay for your campaign and any add-ons, and get your property listed
  3. Hold open-for-inspections, and or private inspections, and answer all of your potential buyers’ questions

We recommend having a conveyancer or settlement agent ready to go. And, if you are in NSW, you will need to have your contract prepared prior to going to market.

How are enquiries handled?

Enquiries will happen in two ways:

Email

When someone makes an email enquiry you will receive these details in real-time. We also automatically send your contact details to the potential buyer.

Phone

When someone makes a phone enquiry you will receive an SMS with your potential buyer's number. We automatically send the potential buyer your phone number via SMS.

We are not permitted to display any private contact information anywhere in our ads.

How long does it take to sell a property?

While the overall aggregate selling period ranges from 4–6 weeks, there are many factors that can influence selling time. Factors include the location of your property; the features of your property; the wants and availability of potential buyers; the strength of the market; and the price you set for your property. On average, our customers usually sell their properties faster if they choose our Ultimate Campaign, when compared to those who select our Essentials Campaign.

How long does it take to put my property on the market?

It depends. If you don't need signage and have everything ready to go, you can list your property in under an hour.

Printed materials including our basic signs will take between 2-5 business days to arrive depending on where you are.

If you are considering our Ultimate campaign which includes professional photos, large sign board , brochures etc. then we would recommend a minimum of 2 weeks.

Other factors to consider allowing time for include cleaning and organising your home, arranging for professional photography if obtaining, posting your For Sale Board, planning your Open for Inspections and giving your conveyancer time to get your Contracts of Sale prepared. If you are in NSW, for example, then you need to be mindful that you will need to have your contract prepared prior to going to market.

How do I arrange a contract of sale?

At Buymyplace, we have partnered with the Lawlab team – Australia’s leading national conveyancing law firm – to bring you a legal solution that is not only price competitive but makes your life easier. Lawlab will legally secure your sale, save you time and delay and take the stress out of selling. Ask us how we can help you with your contract of sale.

How do I determine the value of my property?

Determining the right price for your home is essential when it comes to selling your property because you need to find the perfect balance. Too much, and it can languish for months on the market; too little might see you missing out on some money. Landing on the right price is all about being knowledgeable about your local market and there are plenty of easy, accessible ways to do your research.

A great place to start is to search for recently Sold properties similar to yours on Realestate.com.au and Domain.com.au to find out how much they have sold for in your area. You can also see how long properties were listed on the market.

If you join us at Buymyplace, you’ll have access to the valuation service we use, which is powered by Core Logic-RP Data – the same subscription-based service used by traditional agents.
